     After barbering for 5 years, it was time to open a shop.

     Zac Adolphsen was born and raised in Hope, Maine. After some time in the U.S. Air Force he returned home, and explored several jobs before returning to school to become a barber. 

     Mechanic Street Barbershop is the culmination of what he wanted in a shop. The old time feel, and new school vibe. Come in and check us out!

     A year after the shop's inception, Zac decided it was time to expand by adding an extra chair. Aidan Hamar filled that spot perfectly. Born and raised on the mid-coast, multi faceted, deeply embedded in the community, and a dear friend to Zac, the transition was seamless. 

Now in 2026, we are welcoming Emilio Risoni, a fourth-generation barber and stylist with deep roots in Maine. Having ventured through various states, Emilio has gathered a wealth of experience and honed his skills to bring back to his home community. With expertise in a diverse range of hairstyles and cutting techniques, he is equipped to handle everything from simple haircuts to intricate styles like skin fades and classic 1950s pompadours.
